In 1976, I started playing classical piano at the Herzogenburg Music
School, Lower Austria, where I was very enthusiastically involved in
all school events. In 1985, I was a founding member of my secondary
schools (borg) bigband in St.Pölten, Lower Austria, that later on
brought famous musical productions on the stage all over Austria with
great success. There I first came into contact with Jazz. I also joined a
"Blues Brothers Revival Band "at various local events.
In 1989, after graduation, I spent several months in France where I
decided after a directional jam session to devote my life to professional
music. After my return to Vienna I did not hesitate to enroll in Jazz Piano at the then Franz Schubert
Conservatory. I graduated with distinction after a change to the Vienna Conservatory in 1995.
In my extensive work as a professional musician I became also involved with Theater productions. From 1997 to
2000 I collaborated in several stage programs which were performed in various Viennese theaters (including the
Theater in der Drachengasse) and the Theaterfestival in Munich, and for whom I composed the music. I am as
well musician and composer for my bands "JazzoTronic"and "Vienna Melounge", with whom I was successful
both nationally and internationally (eg. on an Istanbul tour 2006). I was as well the keyboarder of the Jazz-
Rock group "Herbie Smith Department" for several years.
I publish Jazz and Electronic Music and am a composer of the outstanding Viennese Traditional Song program
"The Three-legged Dog", wich was published in 2016. Besides my work as a musician I have been working
effectively as a lecturer in the Jazz and Pop department at the Vienna Conservatory since 1995 and the
JamMusicLab Private University since 2016 to this day.
